Coins from Daddy (Coin Purse): Make and Take Project By Sharon

Ever wondered how to make those cute coin purses with clasping metal frames? Learn how with Sharon. You will receive the pattern, the frame, the needle to sew it to the frame. You will come to class and knit the purse body in stockinette stitch (easy). Then learn how to insert and attach it to the frame. You can also make a cute wrist strap. Bring a small lunch, if you’d like.

*Materials To Be Brought to Class by Student:

~One skein dk weight wool or wool blend. (purse in photo made from madelinetosh “Tosh DK” in Tart color.

~Size US 4/3.5mm knitting needles (straight or 16” circular) OR SIZE NEEDED TO ACHIEVE GAUGE OF 6 STS/7.5 ROWS TO 1” ON FLAT STOCKINETTE/STOCKING STITCH BEFORE BLOCKING.

~Four locking stitch markers

~Yarn needle or large embroidery or chenille needle to sew purse seams

~Sewing thread to match or contrast to yarn color (used only for attaching to frame, remember it will show against metal of frame when you choose color of thread)

~Small sharp scissors

~Pen or pencil for notes

~Reading glasses, if you need them

*Instructor will Provide:

~One 3.35”/8.5cm purse frame (frame shown is Yarnology #827022)

~Small sewing needle (used to attach purse to frame)

~Jump ring (used to attach wrist strap to frame)
