Stash-Buster Weave/Knitted Vest
Use up similar-fiber yarns to weave panels as the basis for a vest. First class meeting will cover designing and warping. On your own, finish weaving the panels. Second class meeting will cover prepping the panels for the knitting portion of the project, and getting started with the knitting.
Materials Required:
This is a stash buster to make room for the new yarns the shop is now carrying. Yarns need to be of similar fiber content and properties (that is, similar cleaning requirements, similar stretchiness, and color-fastness when darks and lights will be used together.) The yarns do not have to be the same weight. Some additional yarn may be needed for the knitted part of the vest.
Weaving and knitting skills required are Advanced Beginner at a minimum
Be as creative as you wish; use multi-dent heddle, experiment with differing weights of yarn. If you are uncertain, use a 7.5-dent heddle with DK, Sport or Worsted-weight yarn. Allow a total of 1500 yards.
