SUMMER SOCK SERIES Custom Toe Up Socks part 3
Class 1- Learn how to make a foot template, cast on, make toe increases, create instep, and place a stitch design in your sock.
Class 2- Knit your heel using the "Fleegle Heel" method. They have a great blog and this is my favorite heel!
Class 3 - Knit an "afterthought" heel. This is particularly useful when you are planning to use a contrast color or if you want ease in repairing heels later.
If you complete all 3 classes, you will have 2 pair of socks completed for yourself or to give as gifts!

Requirements: | Materials needed: 100 gram skein DK or Worsted weight yarn 2 16" circular Needles size US 3 or 5 (or other size to get a fabric you like) These should be 2 different looking needles, such as one wood and one metal. My favorite combination is Chiao Goo Red Lace & Knitter's Pride Karbonz If you LOVE double point needles, that's fine also. Then, I definitely suggest Karbonz so your stitches don't slide off, but you still get a very sharp point. |
