Sewing Handwoven Fabric, Part 1



This is a hands-on class where you can prepare your handwoven fabric for cutting and sewing. You will be making a designer pillow cover from your handwovens as you learn techniques for handling an easily-frayed fabric.


Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Beginner. You should have taken the Intro to Weaving Class and either the weaving fabric class or have woven fabric for the class.
Materials Included: Spray starch, fusible interfacings, fusible thread
Requirements: You will need handwoven fabric at least 13 inches by 25 inches. Bring sewing scissors labeled with your name. Any fiber, any weave structure, any colors. Sewing machines and irons will be used. If you have any you can bring, please do so. You will need to have woven your fabric before the class.
