You will warp your loom for 4 coasters and learn 4 different techniques for using Pick Up sticks that will create a set of mug rugs that coordinate beautifully.
A loom with a 7.5-dent heddle is needed, along with 2 Pick Up sticks. Worsted weight yarn in two to three colors is recommended. If you plan to use the mug rugs as hot pads you must choose yarn that does not have any synthetics. See below for additional requirements.
(This class is a prerequisite for "Double Weave on Rigid Heddle" class. Double weave allows you to make two layers of cloth at the same time that are the width of your loom. Options let you weave items that are twice the width of your loom, items that are tubular length-wise, and items that have horizontal pockets. A Double Weave will be scheduled upon demand.)
You will need a loom and yarn for this course. Looms may be rented from HOKC for $25 per week and the rentals must be arranged in advance as supplies are limited.
