You will make mug rugs in the class while learning all of the basics of how to weave on a Rigid Heddle Loom.
The format of this class is two back-to-back, 2-hour classes. The break from noon to 1PM will give you a chance to grab a snack and get caught up if necessary.
The class is free when you rent a loom and buy 2 skeins of yarn through our shop. (Looms rent for $25 per week, and if you decide to buy a loom, that cost will be applied to your purchase). Supplies of rental looms are limited so please call in advance. Please call the shop to reserve your loom (909-793-8712). Tell them that you need a 10-inch Samplet loom.
In addition to the loom and yarn required for this class, you must also have ready for the class a tape measure, some waste yarn (worsted weight will work best), tapestry needle, and a pair of scissors. These items are available for purchase at HOKC.
Prior to class, please make sure you have a flat space of about 60 inches so you can set of your loom and warping peg. If you don’t have a table long enough, you can use a chair as a “warping peg”. If you have a stand for your iPad or phone it would be helpful to see what you’re doing with your hands free.
