The Garter Tab: An Evolutionary Journey - on Zoom with Nancy Lekx
Many of you will remember Nancy from the Thursday Lunch Chat we had with her. At that time she promised to teach us a better tab cast-on. Here it is!
Most top-down shawls begin with a garter tab that creates a seamless start for the body and borders of your shawl, but it isn’t necessarily intuitive, and can be fiddly to complete. This class will begin with the traditional instructions for a garter tab, then work through a series of tips and tricks, ending with a technique for knitting the garter tab without having to pick up any stitches at all. While this class is more of a demonstration than a workshop, I will go slow enough for people to knit along if they want to do so. There will be time for questions, and for you to discuss which tips best suit your needs and knitting style.
