Yarnival: Sock Tube Savvy on Zoom

Want to make socks for the family but you cannot devote 20 hours of knitting per person?  Cheat a little!  Start with a sock tube and make a pair - or two - from one tube.  This is a two part class - in the morning we will talk about how to measure, separate, and pick up stitches.  And a cheatie way to do gauge!  In the afternoon we will pick up a heel and then talk about how to make other style socks, gauntlets, leg warms, arm warmers and more!

The class has a detailed handout.  The class is recorded and you have access to the recording for 2 weeks.

If you need a tube cranked out click here.
Merino Minis are a great contrasting yarn for heels, toes and cuffs.
Rikki will be in store on 11/27 and Dec 4 cranking tubes.  You can also order tubes to be cranked - it is $10 if the yarn if from the shop and $20 if you bring in you own yarn.

Skill Details: Intermediate
Materials Included: Handout
Requirements: Must have yarn crank tube. Size US 0 needle in long circular. US 1.5 long circular needle for Magic Loop, or size needle to meet gauge. Gauge will vary with sock tube so I recommend having on hand a 1, 1.5 and 2 just in case! Yarn for heels, toes and cuffs. Set of sock markers or 4 locking stitch markers. Darning needle. Waste yarn. Super sharp scissors. Good lighting! Glasses if required to see well.
