YARNIVAL Perfect Fitting Seamed Sweaters with Barry Klein on Zoom

Take the mystery out of sweater knitting!  There is nothing worse than finishing a sweater only to discover that it is way too big or small.  Barry Klein will spend 4 weeks with us helping us to understand how to set ourselves up for success and be able to predict the outcome of our sweater knitting.

This is a 4-Part class.  The fee includes the 8 hours of teaching, the pattern, and Barry's book, The Knitter's Template.  If you are measuring yourself, there is also a tape measure that you can buy for the class.

All classes are on Zoom and you will have access to recording for a couple of weeks after the last class.

Week 1: Come to class with gauge swatch done. We will talk about yarn, yarn construction and why certain yarns are good for certain styles. We will take out the pattern and look at the style and then take body measurements. We will finish with a look at the pattern and what we need to do to start the back. Homework will be to go ahead and start the back.

Week 2: Check up and measure again. How is fit and gauge holding in place? Armhole shaping and depths to work with your body. How to incorporate full fashion details to create the perfect shape. Adjust numbers and let knitters go at it!

Week 3: Look at fronts and talk about new size for front/s, trims, edges and shape. How do your measurements work against the pattern and what to do to adjust. We will work on the fixes and get you set to work on fronts. Homework is to get as much front/s done as possible.

Week 4: See how the body progressed. Check gauge one additional time. Look at sleeves and details and check against the pattern to your measurements. Adjust as necessary and talk about sleeve cap and sleeve shaping for perfect fit. Homework is to get it done!

Along the way we will have a notes set for each of the days. Patterns will be printed and ready to use.  There will be a place for you to had notes on finishing the piece when it is all done.
