YARNIVAL Beginning Spinning on a Spindle with Stephanie on Zoom

Put you hands on a spindle and feel the fiber being turned into yarn. This class will begin with a discussion on fiber and
continue with a basic lesson on using a spindle. We will talk about the history of yarn and the development of the spindle.

This is a great class for completing your Spinning YARNO square - and you may even find that you love spinning!

Do you need supplies?  Click here for a drop spindle and here for a minimal amount of fiber and here for enough for yarn.

The class is on Zoom and will be recorded.  You will have access to the recording for 30 days.

Materials Included: Detailed Handout
Requirements: Medium weight spindle 1.5 to 2.5 oz. Fiber, a carded roving that is open and easy to draft.

Instructor Bio: Stephanie Flynn Sokolov is a fiber fanatic excited about spinning, weaving, knitting, felting, and dying. Students are sure to find inspiration in any class she teaches. She instructs weaving on , Beginning Spinning on a Wheel online through Schacht School of Textile Arts. She is the co-author of Woven Scarves: 26 Inspired Designs for the Rigid Heddle Loom. Her other projects can be found in Spin-Off Magazine, The Weaver?s Idea book by Jane Patrick and on the Schacht Spindle website. Take a class to unleash your inner artist.
