YARNIVAL A Colorful Treat: Intro to Stranded Colorwork

All YARNIVAL classes are taught via Zoom, are recorded, and students have access to the recording for 30 days.  All times are Pacific Time Zone.

Stranded colorwork, for many, is such a treat. In this class, you will learn the basics of stranded colorwork knitting needed to complete your first project and you will gain the skills and confidence to knit your next one (and the one after that, and the one after that)!

This class includes demos and overviews of the following techniques and topics:

  • Color Contrast: choosing colors that work together

  • Reading Colorwork Charts

  • Managing more than one yarn at once

  • Color Dominance

  • Tension

  • Floats - to catch or not?

You can choose from two styles of cowls.  The darker cowl has more shaping from multiple sized of needles - it will sit flatter around the neck.  The lighter color cowl is a more traditional style and uses fewer needles.

Need yarn for the cowl?  Remember to use your YARNIVAL coupon code that was sent after you signed up for a class.
