YARNIVAL Embroider and Embellish your Knits

All YARNIVAL Classes are taught via zoom.  They are recorded and the recording link will be sent to the students.  The link automatically expires in 30 days.  All times are Pacific Time Zone.

Even the most simple knits can be enhanced with embroidery and embellishments.  Nancy Bates, the author or Knitting the National Parks and Knitting California, often uses embroidery in her designs to enhance her motifs.  But she also just adds embroidery because it is pretty!

Have some plain stockinette with you - we have patterns for an optional swatch or cowl if you want something to play with.  You can use any weight yarn for the base but for the sake of ease of learning use DK or worsted.  Go through your stash and find lots of scraps - the weights can vary.  You will need sharp scissors and a tapestry needles that work with the weights of your scrap yarns.  If you also have a button jar, grab it so you can play with embellishments.

Homework: Bring a project, make a small gauge swatch to practice on, or download a free pattern for the Blank Canvas Cowl.  Click here to download from HOKC, click here to download from Ravelry

Need some small bits of yarn?  Check out the minis in Fingering, DK or Worsted Weight.  Don't forget to use your YARNIVAL coupon to save between 15% to 25% off yarn and supplies.
