YARNIVAL Yarn Led Pooling with Mosaic Knitting

In this workshop we will explore the idea of yarn led pooling combined with basic mosaic knitting. Have you ever loved how the yarn looked in the skein but were disappointed with how it looked when knit? This method will give you more control! We will cover the unique stitches used in the “Agave” cowl plus explore other ideas of how to show off your yarn. Students will receive the “Agave” pattern plus their choice of another of Suzanne’s related patterns.
Homework:
Open your worsted weight variegated skein and take a picture of it before winding.
Cast on 99 stitches (slipknot method recommended: https://youtu.be/xYV4ANhz-Kk) join in the round and work set up
Set up -
Round 1: knit
Round 2: purl
Rounds 3-6: repeat rounds 1 and 2

| Skill Details: | You should be and adventurous beginner for this class. Know the basics of knitting, how to read your fabric, and slipping stitches. |
| Materials Included: | Agave cowl pattern plus choice of one of Suzanne’s other pooling or mosaic patterns (“The Dance”, “Synchronized Swimming”, “Moody”, “Sentimental Journey”, “Bubble Wrap” or “Shield Maiden Cowl”) |
| Requirements: | Worsted weight yarn with at least one color repeat that is roughly 10 to 15 inches long. Size US 8 (5mm) needles for working a large circumference. Also have on hand two skeins of scrap yarn in contrasting colors and the appropriate size needles. |
