YARNIVAL Overview

This is designed as a landing page for YARNIVAL to give you an overview and answer questions.  All YARNIVAL classes are held on Zoom, they are recorded, and registered students have 30 days after the class to watch the recording.  Some classes have kits so please leave time for the kits to be mailed or request to pick them up in store.  

Classes:
July 2: Advanced Measuring - this class is for anyone who makes their own garments or wants to understand how to measure others.  It will apply to knitting, crochet, weaving, and sewing.  Debbie and Molly are co teaching bring both sewing and design skills to the table.

July 7th: Intro to Two Pass Woven Knitting - Mary Martin has done it again!  She has created a new technique that makes your knitting look like weaving.  It is an intermediate class perfect for people looking for a new and interesting challenge.  Take a look at the homework - if you are comfortable with the homework, you will be fine with the class!

July 8th: Embroider your Knits - Julie Crawford, an embroidery designer and teacher, is joining us to do an embroidery class focused 100% on how to embroider your knits.  The class comes with a kit of thread, a stick on pattern, and an embroidery needle.  Julie teachers what to do and what to avoid to be successful!  You do not need any embroidery experience.  This class has a kit so please register early.

July 9th: Deciphering Crochet Stitch Diagrams - So many people learn to crochet by feel or look of fabric.  But a ton of gorgeous patterns require you to be able to reach a crochet chart.  Kira Dulaney, of Kira K designs will walk you through how to read the diagrams and share some secrets of success!

July 10th: Flannel Scarf - Urth Yarns created this fabulous scarf that looks like a flannel plaid.  By missing a self striping yarn and a solid, you get a gorgeous effect.  The class price includes the kit and pattern.  The class will focus on how to work the pattern as well as how to choose colors for success.  This class has a kit so please register early.

July 11th: 3 Ways to Ply with a Drop Spindle - calling all spinners!  Shannon, a devoted and talented drop spindle spinner and teacher, is teaching how to ply from spindles onto spindles.  She has tons of tips and tricks to share to help you be more successful.

July 11th: Knit One Below - fan favorite Nancy Lekx is back doing a deep dive into a seemingly simple subject,  But this is Nancy's super power - we love the information and creativity Nancy brings.  And her handouts are amazing!  The class also includes a free pattern.  And... by the end you will be able to tell everyone you can do brioche without ever having to work brioche!

July 12th: Botanical Dyeing - Jenny from 316 Studios is teaching how to dye with plants.  But we are not talking natural dyeing for color - we are talking printing flowers on fabric!  The class comes with a kit but Jenny will also talk about how to dye from your own garden.  Deadline for Class Registration is June 6th so a kit can be prepared!  

July 13th: Amigurumi Skills Class - Christine from Circulo is backing teaching Amigurumi.  Instead of teaching a specific kit, she is teaching this as a skills class.  You can be a brand new Amigurumi crocheter or have experience and you will learn tons in this class.  This class has a kit so please register in time for a kit to be sent to you.

Marie Greene 4 Day KAL begins July 3rd - July 7th.  Be sure to also take the prep class for the KAL on June 24th.
