Slide into Slip Stitch with the Kaleidoscopic Cowl with Kira
Playing with color can be so fun, but also a bit scary to start. Slip stitch colorwork is the easiest form, with just one active color in each row, and a simple technique to make the colors mix together. The Kaleidoscopic Cowl is a project where the color itself gives you energy, as excitement builds to see the next color emerge. Play with a colorful palette while making this quick and fun cowl that’s easier than it looks!
Please note: this is an online class, and you need to buy the $5 pattern on Ravelry.
Materials You Need to Bring:
- 30 yards each of 8 colors worsted weight yarn, or 130 yards each of two colors worsted weight yarn
- US 6 (4mm) and US 9 (5.5mm) 16” circular needles
- Stitch marker
Homework:
- With smaller circular needles and color A (8 color cowl) or main color (2 color cowl), loosely cast on 96 sts.
- Place marker for beginning of round and join, being careful not to twist the sts.
- Work 2 rounds in K1P1 Rib, then change to larger needles and knit 2 rounds, stopping a few stitches before the marker.
