Weaving Log Cabin Pattern with Peggy
You will make 2 placemats in this class. Choose worsted-weight yarns in two colors with good contrast. Both colors should be the same fiber content. Good choices for yarns are Berroca Pima 100 cotton or a worsted-weight Superwash wool. Allow 200 yards of each color.
You will begin weaving Log Cabin pattern placemats. The weave structure will be tabby.

Requirements: | 12-inch or larger loom with one heddle: 7.5-dent, Sleying (threading) hook, the usual tools (scissors, yarn needle, measure, etc.). You may either direct warp or indirect warp. Two colors of worsted weight yarn in heavily contrasting colors - about 200 yards of each color. Worsted-weight yarn in two colors with good contrast. You will need a total of about 400 yards (200 yards of each of two colors). You will need a loom and yarn for this course. Looms may be rented from HOKC for $25 per week and the rentals must be arranged in advance as supplies are limited. |
