YARNIVAL: Invisible Stranding with Susan Rainey on Zoom

Invisible Stranding (aka Ladderback Jacquard) is a game changer and an important tool for the
serious colorwork knitter. When knitting with two colors, it is standard practice to trap long
floats by twisting the working yarn and carried yarn. This creates a pucker in the fabric on the
right side, and often the other color shows through. Invisible Stranding allows you to carry yarn
across any number of stitches without catching the floats. Yes. ANY number!! Susan designed
her “It’s Not About the Hat” pattern to showcase this advanced stranding technique. To quote one
knitter, “It will change your life.”
In this session, we will knit a Heart Headband using the invisible stranding technique (pattern will be provided). Homework will need to be completed prior to the first session. The class is split into two and the second half has an extra hour built in just in case.

The Class is on Zoom and is recorded and you will have access to the recording for 30 Days.

You will receive a pattern for the headband in class and there is homework.  Before class, get circular gauge of 20 sts and 28 rounds over 4 inches on worsted weight yarn.  Recommended needle size is US 7.

We recommend Alegria Grande and one Bocados or Two colors of Vintage.  Purchase of yarn is not required for the class but always appreciated.  You will need size US 7 needles, 16" plus a handful of stitch markers.

NOTE: This is not an Introduction to Stranded Knitting.  You should have experience with stranded knitting to take this class.
