The hot weather has arrived...

But that does not mean we have to stop knitting!

We love to knit. And we even love to knit when it is a zillion degrees outside.

We can't be the only ones, right?

Not hardly!

We are all crazy in love with fiber.

But I have become increasingly frustrated by being able to wear my lovely knits only 3 months per year.

You too?

So we decided to bring in some really lovely cotton and linen yarns. Like Solo Lino and Lino Melange that are made from recycled linen and are so soft you will swear they are not linen!

And Summer Silk that is a cotton and silk combo that will make you think you are knitting with a cloud!!

And several cotton and cashmere blends that are luscious -- the cashmere makes the cotton much lighter weight and so very soft.

Cotton and linen yarns are not quite as easy or as forgiving as wool. And because our store has always had a "we are in this together spirit" we have some classes to help and even a crochet a long.

Molly will discuss the few techniques needed to be successful knitting with cottons and linens.

Summer Top

I am so excited about our Summer Top series. We will take an existing pattern for a top down, set in sleeve aran weight sweater and we will learn to change gauge and change from wool to cotton and long sleeve to short. The sweater is very simple so Molly also has a class on how to add stitch patterns and pockets into a simple sweater.

Fixing Mistakes 301

Are you pretty good at picking up dropped stitches or reaching down to fix a mistake in basic fabrics? But what about lace and cables?This class starts with seed stitch then moves on to cables then changing increases and decreases and we finish with fixing lace and edge stitches.

Mystery Shawl KAL Begins June 5

Carol took on designing our latest Mystery Shawl and it is gorgeous!! You will need 3 skeins of DK weight yarn -- 2 main color and one contrasting -- so come in and start planning your colors!

We are saying goodbye to our lovely Spot On Reward Program.

As most of you know we added a Point of Sale System (a computer program) that helps us a ton. And one of the things it has is a Reward Program. You have been accruing points awards for the past few months! For every $100 you spend you are earning a $5 award. Many of you have already used them!

To make this change easier we wanted to give you time to use up your spots! May 31st is the last day to get new spots.
