Introducing Ito Yarns
All day today you can come in and get acquainted with several of the most popular Ito yarns.
Ito is a Japanese yarn company that produces some amazingly yummy and unique yarns. Their concept is that each yarn is just the start -- the customer should explore their own art by combining the yarns to create unique fabrics.
Wednesday's Ito Tasting gives you a chance to try knitting with this unique and lovely yarn before you buy it. We have a limited offering of yarn on Wednesday. You will have the option of special ordering more colors or lines if we run out before you get your hands on it...
We will be tasting:
Washi is a paper and viscose yarn. Paper yarns have long been used in Japan. When I think of paper I definitely do not think strong or yarn! But Washi is a paper viscose yarn with a rayon ply. It is light weight, breathable, strong lace weight yarn.
Sensai is a beautiful mohair silk combo -- with an amazingly generous 40% silk! Don't let the tiny pack fool you -- this tiny skein packs 262 yards!
Kinu is one of Ito's top selling yarns made from 100% organic silk noil. It is a lace weight yarn with 464 yards that begs to be combined with other Ito yarns to create new and amazing fabrics.
Kin Gin -- adds a little sparkle to your knitting! It is 328 yards of viscose and polyester. Kin Gin begs to be held together with other yarns to create entirely sparkly fabrics or just a bit of bling from time to time.
Gima is a lovely 100% cotton yarn. These tiny bundles pack 231 yards of fingering weight yarn. It has an unusual hand and performs really well when knit with other Ito yarns.
