January Sweater Knitting!
Begins January 15

We have so many new knitters that we decided to choose a very easy style -- the top down yoke sweater.  In class we will be using the Handy Book of Top Down Sweaters by Ann Budd -- it is a template book.  The first class will walk you through how to use the book, key measurements, and a provisional cast on.  There are links below to purchase the book.

There is a series of optional follow up classes that include design classes for intermediate knitters and "how to" classes for our beginners.  You can pick and choose the classes you want to take.  All of the classes are listed on the Calendar -- so far they are Mondays (occasional Tuesday) in the mornings and Wednesday evenings.  When a series sells out we will add additional courses as needed.

Want to knit a Yoke sweater but just want a pattern?   You are in luck -- this is a very popular style right now.  The latest Vogue Knitting is chock full of this style and there are tons of patters on Ravelry!

Posting Projects on Ravelry

Posting your projects to Ravelry does more than just track your progress.  It helps other knitters to see how yarn looks once knitted and how different a pattern can look in different yarn.  It helps the designer get more exposure for their patterns.  And it helps your friends remember the name of patterns they too want to make!  Be sure to share your projects with the HOKC group!
Want free yarn?  This year, for every project you add to Ravelry and share with HOKC's Ravelry Group, we will add your name to a monthly drawing!  You do not need to be present to win -- we will announce winners on our Ravelry Group each month.

Sharon Mooney design and Lazer Sheep yarn --
a marriage made in heaven!  The KAL begins Jan 10!

We are so excited to bring to you our very first year long knit a long.  Sharon has created a beautiful design that uses 12 Lazer Lambs (97 yards) skeins -- each a coordinating amazing color including one brand new color just for this project.

You can buy a kit for this project that will include all 12 colors, 40 locking stitch markers, a custom ring marker coordinating with each colorway, and the pattern.  You may also choose to buy the kit without the pattern.

Regardless of how you buy the kit, you will receive your yarn and marker monthly along with the new pattern clue.  You can pay for the yarn monthly for $10 per month ($20 the first month to include the pattern) or you can click here to pay in full and save $10.  Download codes will be emailed to you when you buy the kit with pattern.

You can pick up your yarn in store each month or we will mail the yarn to you if you prefer.

The kits are in short supply so act quickly if you know you want in!  The new yarn and clue will be available the 10th of each month.

Sharon's pattern  can also be purchased separately on Ravelry or in store at HOKC.
