The KAL consists of 12 squares that vary in complexity from very simple to a bit challenging. Molly designed two patterns: one for the Intermediate Knitters and one for the Adventurous Beginner. We will support the learning process!!
Techniques for the Intermediate Bag: Mitered Square, Intarsia, Cables, Guernsey, Herringbone, Plaited Basket Weave, Mosaic, One Color Brioche, and Hooking Beads.
Techniques for the Adventurous Beginner: Mitered Square, Intarsia, Cables, Guernsey, No-Purl Ribbing, Basket Weave, Mosaic, and Hooking Beads. While many of the techniques are the same, these are simplified.
The squares are totally interchangeable so you can download both patterns and pick and choose.
The pattern uses worsted weight yarn -- I used Vintage in the design. The Intermediate uses 6 colors and 7 skeins (2 skeins of the darkest). The Adventurous Beginner uses 2 colors and 5 skeins -- 3 dark and 2 light. You need a minimum of 1050 yards and at least 4 colors for the Intermediate and 2 colors for the Beginner.
You will get the pattern for two squares per week -- one easier and one more challenging. The patterns come out on Mondays and the classes are every Wednesday-- one morning and one evening.
The bag does not get felted so it will need to be lined. There are sources for this if you do not sew...
