August Weaving Classes
Intro to Weaving
New Class Added
Wednesday Night!
Peggy's very popular class is back. If you think you might want to try weaving, this is the perfect class for you. You will learn about a Rigid Heddle Loom, how to warp, weft, make your ends look good, and the math you need to know to estimate a project.
We have looms you can rent! The rental fee is $25 for one week. Please arrange a rental in advance as we only have 4!
Weave Tea Towels
New Class Just Added!
With one simple warp you will learn several lovely patterns you can make just by alternating your weft yarns!
Towels are the perfect gifts --
and it is not too early to starting thinking about Christmas!
You need worsted weight cotton yarn in two colors -- usually a good contrast between the colors is best.
Our Pima 100 from Berroco is ideal!
4 Shaft Round Robbin
Love your Rigid Heddle but do not want to mess with the pick sticks?
Come in and try a variety of 4 shaft looms and explore the types of techniques you can easily make.
There is a free demo on how to warp the looms. The following week's classes have a fee but there is no loom rental fee or material fee. Just pick one of the time slots -- there will be around 4 people
per session.
You will make the lovely accessory pouch pictured -- Peggy will even do the finishing work for you.
Warping Board Demo
As you make more and more complicated warps you may find yourself searching for an easier way.
Peggy demonstrates the joys of a warping board. And we have one in store you can use any time!
This Demo is FREE! so pop in and check it out -- but please sign up first!
Stash Busting Vest
Weave & Knit
Combine your weaving and knitting skills to make a fun, one of a kind vest. The woven part allows you to blow through a bunch of stashed or left over yarn. Be sure the yarns you choose have similar stretch and washing instructions.
The knitting part will require worsted weight yarn of one color. It is very easy knitting -- just garter stitch with minimal shaping.
This is a two-part class!!
Drop In Weaving
Peggy holds a Drop In Weaving Class every Tuesday afternoon.
Bring a project with questions, ask how to get started on a new project, or just work on an existing project with a little extra support.
The fee for this class is $15 paid directly to Peggy.
You do not need to register in advance.
