We try yo keep many of the December classes to easy, make and take projects as we know many of you are still working on gifts!
Intro to Weaving

In this fantastic Intro class you learn everything you need to know to weave simple projects - like mug rugs, table mats, and scarves. Weaving is a fast and fun way to make last minute gifts. You will make a set of 3 or 4 coasters in this class - the perfect hostess gift!
Weave Inkle Tote Bag Straps

Inkle weaving is a form of warp faced weaving that makes really strong material - absolutely perfect for the straps of a bag, a belt, or guitar straps, etc.
You do not need a special loom for Inkle Weaving! Use your rigid heddle loom!
Intro to Knitting

This class is for the absolute beginner. You will learn to Cast on and the knit stitch in class as well as how to read a basic pattern.
Come back a week later and learn the purl stitch and how to seam your gauntlets. The pattern is included in the class fee.
Intro to Knitting for the Adventurous Beginner

Think of this class as more of a refresher. Have you learned to knit before but it has been a while?
You will relearn how to cast on, how to work a knit stitch and purl stitch and identify each while working on a welted cowl. Come back when you are done and we will teach you how to bind off!

Most of us, when learning a new skill, have a few pieces that just don't quite turn out the way we want. With weaving it can be bad edges, or inconsistent beating (tension), or warping gone wrong. Peggy is going to show you how to create beautiful pieces out of the things we are tempted to throw away! If you do not have any of these to bring -- Peggy will provide some of hers!
Felted Soaps

Felted soaps are a blast to make - they can be very simple or you can use extra wool to create designs.
Felted soaps are a washcloth and soap all in one - acts like a loofah, has antibacterial properties, and makes soap last longer.
Denise will provide the wool and soaps. Students will need to bring a good size bowl. HOKC has felting pads you can use. You will need to purchase felting needles which we have in stock.

In this Intro class you will learn to chain, single and double crochet while making a washcloth! You need a light color, worsted weight cotton yarn and H hook. You can pick the supplies up in store.

Vicki will walk you through all of the basics of crocheting flat. Learn to chain, work into the chain while learning to work a single and double crochet stitch. You need worsted weight yarn and a size H hook.

The shawl is designed to sit perfectly on your shoulders for a beautiful and highly wearable result.
This is a year long KAL. You get one skein of yarn per month and a clue each month.
