I have spent my whole career in retail and during this shut down, in addition to worrying about my own business, I cannot help but worry about all of the front line people in retail and restaurants. Multi week shutdowns are taxing all of our safety nets! But if your safety net was especially thin, then by now you are wondering where your next meal will come from. So all monies from this pattern will be donated to Feeding America. Please think about buying a kit or making an even larger donation. All monies we collect (with the exception of taxes and shipping fees) will be donated to Feeding America.

Gauge for Large: 3 sts and 5.75 rows to 1” on garter
Gauge for Small: 4 sts and 8 rows to 1” on garter
A note about gauge – you are looking for a fairly firm gauge that will felt thickly – as you change yarns it is more important to get this firm feeling than an exact size. Just have a little extra yarn…
A note about yarn - for the leaf you need about 10 yards of green yarn. For the orange you will use about 50% of a 100g skein. If you have full skeins of the orange and green, you can drop one skein of A if you want to stripe the handles or back of bag using all three colors.
Large and Small sizes are based on the weight of the yarn – you will follow the same instructions. Size will vary based on the weight of yarn you use, your gauge, and how fully you felt the bag.
